Mapo Galbi in Koreatown

Our twenty year younger friends introduced us to a new restaurant in Koreatown.

This place has no English sign.

Our friend calls this “sour soup,” but I think this is a kind of kimchi called water kimchi in Japanese. According to Wikipedia, it is called Dongchimi in Korean. I love it, but I was the only one who enjoys it among four people 😦

We had 3 orders of Dak Gal Bi, which was strongly recommended by friend.

Adding more veggies & herbs.

Ready to eat!
BTW, this is medium spicy. It is uniquely spicy and sweet at the same time.

When 3/4 finished, they would make fried rice for you. Delicious!

Gone!

Including a large bottle of beer, total check was around $65 for four people. It was more than satisfying for the reasonable price. I can’t wait to go back next time.
