My Dream Breakfast in Kyoto

IMG_9273
Had a good sleep in Japanese futon on tatami. Starting a day with water and cherry that the friend in Shiga gave us.

We decided to go out for a traditional breakfast. Barely made it the last order at 9:30am.

I looks simple, but tastes amazing. I can tell it’s been carefully prepared for all details. Daikon looking stuff is actually Kanpyo (かんぴょう).

Egg and two kinds of grilled fish

Edamame paste on fried tofu

Tomato in miso soup, not only traditional but something new

You can pick either porridge or steamed rice.

This is one of most memorable meals for the entire trip. I would go back when visiting Kyoto next time.

We happened to pass by a shrine 護王神社 that divine favor for healthy back and feet. My back had been a huge problem from the beginning of trip. I stopped by and purchased お守り(good luck charm).

Then went to 金閣寺 (Kinkakuji). Beautiful temple and garden.
