I missed this kind of Japanese breakfast and home cooking for a long time. Thanks, Uncle & Auntie for letting me stay at your place and treating me like own kid.
A cousin and I went to Yokohama SOGO to pick up lunch for everyone. Look at these high end onigiri.
Seasoned Konjac from Kyushu
My onigiri with Sujiko (salted salmon roe)
I love pickles.
Mini Sandwich Set (7 kinds)
I saw this strawberries called “Sky Berry” on TV.
Well balanced of sweetness and sourness. Delicious.
Seeing Grandma’s body off at 1pm.
The Night before funeral ceremony (Otsuya) started at 6pm. Having a buddhist priest to raise the sutra for her. He preached us as well about basic Buddhism philosophy and how to say good-bye to grandma. We felt better by his saying that it would be fine that we not only show all our emotions such anger, grief, sadness but also laugh and smile by recalling good memories with her as long as the last word is appreciation or gratitude to her.
Kaiseki Zen after the ceremony
Chawanmushi (savory egg custard)
Cousin’s friend baked chiffon cake.
