Creme De La Crepe Bistro

I used to and still sometimes take surveys and earn points. Then I usually redeem points to get Restaurant.com cards.

Restaurant.com offers restaurant certificates. Yes, it’s free meal! Not quite. There are some conditions, such as “you have to spend minimum $30 to use $15 certificate.” But it’s still good for us because our regular places, The Main Course and Z Garden are on the list. So we could constantly get a discount with Restaurant.com certificates.

Today, we tried a new place with a $15 certificate for minimum purchase $22.50.

It’s located at Westfield Mall in Culver City. When we arrived around 11am, it was 80% full, which was a good sign. However, we felt something awkward when seated and figured it out because of no proper greeting or nice smile by staff. Although it was busy, no lively ambience there.

We order food & drink anyway and I asked for a glass of water as well when the server brought our drinks. Nothing happened in 5-10 minutes. Another 10-15 minutes passed. It seemed that people after us had been served with food.

He finally called the server, “Excuse me.” She turned and said, “Oh your food! Is that what you asking for?” “And water,” he replied. “Oh yeah.” That’s it!? I think it is very rude. Maybe she is not happy to work there.

We waited another 5 minutes and got food.

Smoked Salmon Sandwich with salad and potato gratin $12.95

On the menu it’s stated “sandwich with baguette.” It’s more like panini bread, which tastes ok. Coffee is tasteless and not hot enough.

He finished the whole dish of grilled chicken sandwich with salad & gratin, but surely was not happy with the service.

The experience affects the taste. I am glad that we didn’t have to pay full price.
