IMG_5335
Guacamole $7, hass avocado, serranos, cilantro, red onions, Yxta salsa brava, spicy pepitas, fresh chips
Best guac & chips in my life! Hot sauce on the side is perfect to adjust its spiciness.

IMG_5337
Callo de Hacha $6, jumbo sea scallop encrusted with pepitas, chipotle-peppercorn sauce
When seeing the menu, I thought it would be “too good to be true.” Here it is! Unbelievable quality and size for $6.

IMG_5340
Tacos de Carnitas $9, slow-cooked pork, guacamole, red onions, cilantro, Yxta salsa brava
Wow! I’ve never seen chunky and flavorful carnitas like this. So upscale! It could be a fancy meal and doesn’t get messy at all.

This place is a full of surprises. They make casual popular Mexican food to the next level. More than 60 kinds of tequila and various cocktails available too. We definitely want to come back for dinner sometime soon.

I like Camper, but they didn’t have anything catching my eyes this time.

We bought a few stuff at Uniqlo and took a break on a bench. Surprising to see most restaurants and cafes I know have been closed at Santa Monica Place and a lot of space got vacant 😦

I totally forgot “Small” would not be quite small for us. Although it tasted good, we both couldn’t finish it. We could’ve shared one perfectly.

Fish is so tender. I love the green sauce (aji verde).

Food and service are very good here. However, it took more than 30 minutes to get our food on the table. Sigh…Now I understand why a co-worker booked a table and pre-ordered for us last time.

Dinner time!
A co-worker from Malaysia gave me Malaysian instant noodle.

IMG_5284
She warns that it might be too spicy for me, so I added daikon, mizuna, egg, cilantro and a lot of lime juice. It turned perfectly tangy and sour with rich shrimp flavor. We love it!

It could taste better than Kona, but it hardly gets out of Hawaii because its small amount of produce, he explains.

I picked up these food at a store on Sawtelle. Sawtelle Blvd. is always full of people, but it was kind of quiet around 5:30pm on Monday.

I love everything I got. A lot of vegetables and natural flavors. Red Miso Beef is a bit strong and salty. It should be good with plain rice or bread. It’s a plenty of food, so it will be my lunch tomorrow too.
