Ofuro, Then Sopaipilla & Margarita

img_0254
I always say, “I miss hot springs in Japan.” Then my husband found this place in Santa Fe.

img_0256
Santa Fe is located at 7,199ft (2,194m) above sea level but we drove up even more to get here.

We sweated and now feel so nice in the cold air outside.

Spa Suite-Ofuro $57 per person (90 min)

It was such a relaxing time and so nice to warm our bodies inside out. However, I feel it’s a bit over priced for only 90 minutes. They did a really good job to create an Onsen Spa in the mountain of Santa Fe.

Pinky orange sky didn’t make it in the picture.

It’s dinner time. Initially we drove to The Pantry (4.5 stars on yelp) but they closed early on the day before Thanksgiving. A good thing is our second choice offers margarita and sopaipilla comes with all entrees. Yay!

We walked all over downtown Santa Fe more than a half day long and got pretty tired.  It’s time to fuel up at one of places on our list.

img_0248
Here we are! It was a few minute drive from the hotel.

They are famous for chocolate drinks and offer unlimited sampling. I did American and Modern Mexican. Modern Mexican is a little bit too cinnamony. He sampled Chili.

img_0250
His: Zapoteca (100% chocolate), Mine: American (Chocolate 72% + Almond Mix) with whipped cream $3.75 each

img_0251
Mine is just heavenly. His is so strong like espresso. Definitely we both got fueled to get going.

img_0253
They sell coffee beans and gourmet chocolates too.

Good Morning Santa Fe

img_0180
Temperature dropped to 28F in the night. He complains the cold but I liked the crisp and clear air that reminds me of my home town.

img_0183
The inn offers complimentary breakfast buffet. We were the first ones arriving at the dining room. I had organic apple juice, plain yogurt, fruit and granola.  Tried not to eat too much and saved a room for nice lunch.

img_0184
Cappuccino & mini croissant too

It was only 8:45am when we got ready to go. No places opened yet, so we decided to walk around and enjoy downtown Santa Fe.

Georgia makes me want to live freely like her. Wished we had more time to visit her home in Abiquiu, located approximately 50 miles northwest of Santa Fe.
