Simply rolled up sliced pork belly with napa cabbage and simmered in Chinese broth.

He really liked the broth 🙂

Added women noodle & egg to enjoy till the last drop of it.

Italian Cooking Class – April 2017

We learned recipes of very satisfying dishes but easy to cook.

Antipasto: Insalata di Ceci (Chickpea Salad)
I tried Primosale (Ricotta Salata). It’s solid and sality. The salad is seasoned with dried tomato, basil, lemon, salt and pepper. Very refreshing. Great with white wine.

Primo Piatto: Tiella (Oven baked mussels, rice, tomato and potato)
This dish from Puglia Region reminds me of Doria, very popular in Japan. It’s hard to tell what is inside from this picture. So I add a video to Instagram. It’s so delicious and enjoyable as main dish.

Secondo Piatto: Filetto di Maiale al Balsamico (Pork Tenderloin with Balsamic Sauce)
So tender and so tasty. While cooking Balsamic vinegar sticks to my eyes and nose, but turns sweet at the end.

Dolce: Meringata alle Fragole (Meringue with Strawberries & Cream)

New Nails, Fish Soup Noodle & Frozen Yogurt

I usually don’t get nails. Three weeks ago, I got nails for a friend’s wedding. Mmmm, I feel so uplifted. But, my nails grow and get gap so fast. Last couple days, I got nails tipped and peeled so bad and felt so down 😦

So…I stopped by the nail salon and get new nails. Feels like spring and happy again 🙂

Then I went to Huong Vi for dinner. My husband went out with co-workers.

I called them to reserve this morning. It’s so delicious.

He came back home and asked me out for frozen yogurt. We had Honey Greek and Caramel Macchiato. What a coincidence! Last year, I had fish soup noodle and frozen yogurt on the same day 😛

Lunch: Freshy – Steak Peppercorn with Sauteed Carrots & Asparagus, Mashed Potatoes (500 calories, 30g carbs, 6g sugar)

Steak is so tender. This is something I would order again. Portion is kinda big, so I prefer to split two different meals and tastes various food.

Last week, I found a deal for FRESHLY, microwavable meal delivery service. It’s $39 for 6 meals, which usually cost $59. They offer onvenient, healthy, delicious and sustainable food with all natural/fresh ingredients. I’ve been tired of my own food too. So why not?

Earliest available delivery date was today. Here it is! It was delivered to our room not left at mail box/common area in the building.

Swiss chard, grilled herb chicken, spaghetti squash cake, Mexican street corn, shrimp fajitas: Well seasoned (less salty but effectively spicy). I especially liked spaghetti squash cake, swiss chard and corn.

We have had only two meals, but I almost conclude that this service would be a good option when I have to leave him home alone or feel too lazy to cook.

I went to dentist for cleaning and checkup. It’s been confirmed that everything looks fine. Yay!

Dinner: Ponzu Bell Pepper, Pan-fried Brussels Sprouts, Carbonara
Today I tried a new recipe of carbonara. It is still not perfect. I really don’t know how to improve it. I am going to ask my Italian Cooking teacher for an advice. In the meantime, I really need to eat a good one at a restaurant.
