Terrible Ear Pain

In the early morning around 4am, I woke up with a terrible pain inside my right ear. Around 5am I couldn’t take it any more and took Ibuprofen. It eased the pain and I went back to sleep.

The pain came back so I took Advil around 11am.

Lunch: Soba Salad

I barely survived at work all day. Around 6pm the pain is getting bad, but we just took off for dinner. Since I was not in a good condition, we walked a few minutes to one of our favorite/trusted restaurants for European home meals.

Garden Salad $2.95

This citrusy house dressing tastes amazing.

His: Brisket of Beef $16.95

Mine: Stuffed Cabbage $14.95

In the middle of dinner, the pain became unbearable. Not only I could only had a few bites but also I felt tasteless because my tongue was numb. So sad not to fully enjoy food.

When home, I took another Ibuprofen but it didn’t work as much as this morning. At that time, it was too late to go to an urgent care.

Eastern European Cuisine @ The Main Course

He worked from home today, so I drove home straight from work. A question was where we should go for dinner tonight?

I had a $15 certificate for the Main Course, which is an Eastern European restaurant within a walk distance from home. Perfect!

The cozy and comfy place was a full of seniors when we arrived. I understand that the homey dishes would attract kids to seniors.

Menu: Various European meals for the reasonable price

Tasty bread

Garden Salad $2.95

Citrusy homemade dressing… I can drink this straight.

Spicy Shrimp with Linguini in Creamy Spicy Tomato Sauce $17.95
After debating with my favorite Romanian Stuffed Eggplant, I decided to try something new.

He had his favorite, Beef Brisket ($16.95). We both enjoyed the dinner so much. Our server apologized a low service because of a large group before us, but it was not bad at all.

Total: $40.80 + tax – $15 coupon = $29.47 + tip

There was nothing in the fridge, but didn’t want to go out.

Jiro Style Ramen @ Umenoya

Lunch: Jiro Ramen $10.95

I was craving for Jiro style ramen, which a lot of veggies, minced garlic and pork grease on top.

Ordered a half garlic on the side. Full amount garlic was too much last time.

I love this thick and chewy noodle.

I am not a fan of greasy soup like this, but this ramen is very satisfying and balanced out with a lot of bean sprouts & cabbage.

Not feeling Like Cooking

I felt lazy as a usual Saturday morning. My husband fixed french toast for breakfast. We didn’t have any fruit to go with, so I made green juice with spinach, parsley, apple and lemon.

It tastes drinkable with apple and lemon.

His French toast is a little dry, but can’t complain it because of my laziness.

Lunch: curry udon with a lot of green onion

I didn’t feel like cooking at all. We just went to pick up some dish at the Main Course.

Turkey Vegetable Lasagna

Very good 🙂

Viva Certificates

I was lately introduced to It’s a sort of reward program and you could redeem points for restaurant certificates on

Thank you so much,! They include some of our favorite restaurants such as Z Garden.

The Main Course, we went for dinner tonight as well.
What’s great about this place is…1. Just a few minute walk from home, 2. They don’t charge a corkage, 3. Most importantly, food is amazing. Extra benefit is that all servers are cute girls, which always makes my husband happy.

We grabbed an opened riesling bottle from our fridge and enjoyed there.

We love the bread. Actually, everything tastes so fresh and homey, so you never get tired of it.

My main course was Rumanian Stuffed Eggplant ($13.95). Delicious!

Our original bill was $30 but ended $15 + tip with a certificate.
